Roll measurement technology

Taking advantage of RollResearch's high precision 4-point measurement and grinding solutions will facilitate the papper mill to improve end product quality, process efficiency and production reliability.  4-point measurement makes 3D grinding possible which in turn will allow grinding in own bearings. This will reslut in shortening of the grinding cycle.

  • Fully automatic, motorized movements
  • Installed on X-carriage.
  • Carbon fiber C-frame is installed to horizontally moving measuring beam (X1-axis).
  • 3 short measuring rods + 1 measuring arm of lever type on wheel side.

     Applicable for grinders:

  • Most of old roll grinders.
  • Easy installation to existing Waldrich Siegen CP type measuring device. 4-point upgrade by using the existing X1-beam.

     Applicable for grinders:

  • Upgrade to existing Herkules measuring device.
  • Herkules and other grinders without existing measuring device: New foot and rigid horizontal beam is installed on Z-carriage.

  • Semiautomatic, manually adjustable rods.
  • Installed on lathe's toolpost.
  • Four measuring rods, roller type. Manual adjustment against roll. Diameter range 300 mm.
  • Pivoted up-down movement and manually adjustable horizontal movement for centering C-frame according to roll's
  • entrum. Manual vertical adjustment.
  • One carbon fiber C-frame, for supercalender roll diameter range 500-800 mm (or other 300 mm range).

    Applicable for lathes:

  • All grinders without existing measuring device.
  • A cost effective solution when manual measuring device is acceptable.
